Tignes in the French Alps is superb for School Trips. Graham Milton loves the resort…
I’ve been to Tignes and neighbouring Val D’Isere many times over the last 15 years and like other ‘snow-addicts’, I never gave much consideration as to what it would be like in the Summer.
In August 2014, I found myself there on holiday with my French & PE-teaching girlfriend, Sophie. The temptation of cheap flights combined with mountains was too strong.
Given my experience of running adventure trips with Land & Wave and Sophie’s 10 years of experience teaching and taking school trips all over the world, it was only a matter of days before we decided…
TIGNES MIGHT JUST BE THE BEST LOCATION FOR SCHOOL TRIPS IN THE WORLD – EVER!!
JUST LOOK AT IT…
Jump forward a year and lots of research and planning and I am back with in Tignes with Land & Wave’s Owen to work out some details and test the potential for incredible outdoor experiences for students from the UK.
Here’s how we got on
We arranged LOTS of meetings…
Drank lots of Espresso…
We tested the whitewater rafting courtesy of our (awesome) rafting partner…
We got a little scared…
We tried out the local Via Ferrata, which was quite spectacular!
We explored the incredible mountains surrounding Tignes with the welcome assistance of the chair lifts…
And we checked out lots of fantastic accommodation providers…
Conclusion
Well, put simply, we are now running school trips to Tignes in 2017 – fancy it?
We are looking for forward-thinking, pioneering schools to work closely with us in the first year. We’ll be offering great prices and teacher perks to those schools, so drop us a line if you’d like to know more.
