11 Fantastic Half Term Activities in Dorset

There are so many amazing things happening in Dorset this half term we thought it'd be useful to put them into one handy list!

Half term activities

1. Purbeck Pirate Festival, Swanage

Friday 24th May – Monday 27th May

Sword fighting, musket and cannon fire, beach skirmishes, stalls and attractions, kids pirate disco, mermaids, treasure hunts, stone carving, the Pirate Pub Crawl, the Pirate Surgeon, the Wimborne Militia, Jax Parrow and much, much more!

2. Mudeford Seafood Festival, Mudeford Quay & Christchurch Harbour

Saturday 25th May – Monday 27th May

A free – family focused celebration of seafood, cooking, local libations, entertainment, demonstrations, artisans, local celebrities and musicians.

3. Land & Wave Kids Club, Sandbanks Beach

Tuesday 28th May – Friday 31st May

Land & Wave Kids Clubs are perfect for energetic, outdoor loving children aged 8+. Simply drop your kids at Sandbanks each day and we’ll whisk them off for an amazing adventure. Activities include: Coasteering, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Raft Building, Survival Skills, Orienteering, Archery, Coastal Exploration, Crabbing & more.

4 days = £112 per child

Single days = Reduced from £39 to £25 per child

4. Bournemouth 7’s Festival

Friday 24th May – Monday 27th May

Live sport, live music, lots of bars. Professor Green is headlining!

5. Gin & Seafood Festival, The Greyhound in Corfe

Saturday 25th May – Monday 27th May

6. Go dolphin spotting on a kayak from Ocean Bay, Swanage

Monday 27th May

Join Land & Wave for a kayaking trip around the beautiful Swanage Bay. This experience is perfect for all abilities. We’ll teach you the basics of paddling and take you on a journey to explore the bay.

7. Fish & chips on the beach.

An old favourite. Watch the sunset over the sea with a portion of fish & chips. The perfect end to a busy day.

8. Come coasteering with Land & Wave

Sunday 26th May or Monday 27th May

The UK’s most exhilarating adventure experience.

Your three-hour session includes an expert guide to lead you along the spectacular Jurassic Coastline.

9. Get active on Sandbanks Beach

Monday 27th May

We have loads of activities you can get involved with at Sandbanks Beach on Monday 27th May. Finish the bank holiday weekend in style and come and join us for one of these epic sessions.

Beach Circuits – 06:30-07:30

Ladies SUP ‘n’ Social – 09:30-11:00

10. Go for a walk on Brownsea Island & try out their crayon rubbing trail

Using your trail map, you work your way round the island and discover different rubbing tiles and learn about Brownsea’s flora & fauna. If you love climbing, you can see how high you can climb on their tree climbing trail too!  All trails are free, find out more at their Visitor Centre.

11. 24 Hours of Adventure, Corfe Castle
